The other day I was reading the newsletter from Lion Brand Yarns , which talked about The Ships Project, started by Ellen Harpin, to provide caps and other hand knit or crocheted items to the troops deployed overseas. I had just bought a whole bunch of yarn on clearance, and decided to try to come up with a pattern using some Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick in Grass. The results are shown in the picture above. I put the pattern on my website for anyone who is interested in making the cap for the troops or just themselves.
