Heart Scarf FO

I finished Heart, and the 3-needle bindoff was super easy! I don't know what I was so afraid of! Granted, it's a very small piece; I don't know how easy it would be with a much bigger seam to graft... Probably could get cumbersome. But the technique is not complicated at all. I am really glad I didn't let that stop me from making the scarf.

This scarf really needs blocking - it completely curls in on itself, as you can see in the pics. Now, blocking is something else I have never really done... Most of my projects haven't really needed it - not as sorely as this one! So, out came the ironing board and pins... And again, while it's an extra (and maybe annoying)step after finishing a piece, it really isn't hard. Just a bit of a pain. I will have to figure out something else for blocking bigger items, though - the ironing board isn't big enough, and there's not a lot of space for a blocking board to sit out. Oh well, I 'll cross that bridge when I get to it! For now, I'm happy with the scarf, and have more than enough yarn left to make another one. I didn't even finish the first skein of yarn making this scarf. This would be a great (and rather quick) gift for a special friend for Valentine's Day.

Oh that turned out beautiful - great job! =)

BTW blocking on the carpet floor covered in towels works great for larger pieces or you can get all fancy with a blocking board. =)
