Picot Edging with DPN's and a Crochet Hook





Here is my Knitting Olympics project - Grumperina's Jaywalker socks, with a picot edging as shown in this blog by Anna. I found a small crochet hook to be extremely helpful in finishing the edging. The edging pattern (after casting on) is as follows: K3 rounds, yo K2tog all the way round, K3 rounds and pick up hem (this part is where I used the crochet hook).

1. Insert hook through stitch on left needle and through corresponding hem stitch.
2. Wrap yarn over hook.
3. Draw yarn through both loops.
4. Put resulting loop onto right dpn.

The hook made it much easier to pick up the hem stitch and pull the yarn through.
