PuppyLove and FlickrMitts!

Happiness is...

I used up the last 4 skeins of Lion Brand "BIG" yarn to make a small throw for Spike. He LOVES it! It's perfect as a mat to lay on or (as in the photo above) a warm, cozy blanket when he's on the loveseat. (Yes, I am crazy!)

These are the latest pair of mitts I have finished for the Fingerless Mitts KAL. The bright stripes make me think of Dr. Seuss for some reason... plus I am a big Flickr addict, and they are Flickr's logo/symbol colors (must have been subconsciously in my mind - I didn't even realize it until after they were done!). I plan to knit more mitts (there are so many great patterns on the Fingerless Mitts for Fall KAL blog!) but I have so many other projects I want to do, too!!

I have started a simple garter stitch shawl for my mom, in Lion Brand Homespun's, "Prairie" colorway. My parents have an apartment on the 9th floor of a large building. It used to be kept very warm... Even on the coldest days, it was comfortable to wear t-shirts and even shorts. With the recent huge increases in fuel prices, that's no longer the case, so I think she'll appreciate a shawl a lot more now when she's reading or watching TV.

Your finished mittens are so pretty and cheerful! And your doggie is so adorable snuggled under that little blanket! =)

Thanks for the happy thoughts on my baby kimono! I love these stripey mitts -- saw them on the KAL and forgot to look at who they belonged to. I need to make some of these. Boh is 11 months old - a sweetheart, though he is a bit of a scaredy-cat. Spike is a great name for a dog.
