Getting There...
I have now finished the back, left front, most of the right front and one sleeve... So I expect to be at the assembly part of the process by the time of our next knitting class. Another knitter in our class is going to make the same project, keeping it as a coat. She purchased the cream-colored yarn today. Our instructor suggested that we could add our own embellishments, such as a single crochet border around the edge in a contrasting color. (For a more feminine touch, you could add a crochet border with a more lacey design.) Her goal was to show us how to take basic patterns and, with simple customizing, personalize them to add our own style and make them unique. I like that idea, because you could also use the same pattern more than once, and change the whole look of the finished garment.
